INWIT (Infrastrutture Wireless Italiane) operates in the infrastructure sector for electronic communications. An experience that is rooted in the Gruppo Telecom Italia, which 40 years ago was the forerunner of mobile telephony in Italy.
INWIT is currently the first Italian Tower Operator for number of sites managed, about 11,000. Distributed in a widespread manner throughout the national territory, they host the transmission equipment of all the main national operators.
Atlantic Business Center, due to its strategic position and the height of the complex, was chosen by INWIT to host the installation of a radio base station for the public mobile telephone service.
The radiant apparatus, consisting of three antennas facing towards Milan South-East, towards Via Mecenate and towards Linate Airport, supports the most advanced data transmission technologies, up to the next 5G.
INWIT contributes significantly to the coverage of wireless telephone services in Italy.
It will continue to do so in the coming years, increasing its sites also in view of the development of new technologies, starting from 5G.
In addition to hosting operators on its towers, INWIT is building its own DAS (Distributed Antenna System) infrastructure to allow widespread coverage of densely populated open spaces (historic centers of large cities or other gathering places) or large enclosed spaces intended for commercial, leisure and sports (stadiums) or health infrastructure (hospitals) activities.
